Late Spring Session West African Drumming Classes
|
|
We have a session of 6 weeks starting the week of April 27th for both our Ongoing and Beginner classes. The price for thefull session is $60, and if you would prefer to just drop-in the fee is $12 per class. here are the details:
Ongoing Class
Starting: April 28th, 2009, and will run for 6 weeks
When: 6PM – 8PM
Cost: $60 pre-paid for entire session. $12 drop-in
Beginner Class
Starting: April 30th, 2009, and will run for 6 weeks
When: 6PM – 8PM
Cost: $60 pre-paid for entire session. $12 drop-in
The location for both classes is in our "drum room" in Bath. Contact us for more details and directions - 207-319-7433.
As always we have a limited number of rental drums available. In class rentals are $3 per class, and take home rentals are $5 per week of class.

But to call it "foreign" brings the connotation of distance and separation between West African villagers and people like Bath residents Eric and Barbara vanBok. Interestingly, it is with folks like the vanBoks that West African drum legend Famoudou Konate sees the future of his art, which is several hundred years old.
